Do You Own A Jacuzzi? Common Problems It May Have So You Can Prevent Them

by Wade Black

If you have a jacuzzi in your home there are many problems it could have, especially if it is older. To help you out, below are some of these problems so you can get them taken care of and prevent them from happening again in the future.

Water Chemistry

One of the main problems you will find with jacuzzies is with the water chemistry. If you are having problems with algae growing on top of the water or mold growing on the sides of the jacuzzi the water chemistry is not correct. Over time, this could damage your jacuzzi which can lead to very expensive repairs.

To take care of this problem you should drain your jacuzzi and clean it thoroughly. If you are not sure how to drain it refer to the owner's manual. You can purchase the right cleaner at any place that sells jacuzzies. Once you fill the jacuzzi back up with water, apply a sanitizer to help keep the water clean.

To prevent this problem in the future, purchase test strips to check the water at least once a week. This way you can add chemicals, if needed, to keep the jacuzzi in great condition. These test kits will come with complete instructions on how to use them.

Filter Clogs

Over time the filter will clog up with dirt, grime, and more. This will cause the filter to back up and this dirt and grime will get into your water. If you use body oils in the jacuzzi, these oils can also block the filter. In a case like this, you need to clean the filter with a degreaser made for jacuzzies.

When a filter clogs the jacuzzi will likely display an error code on the controls. This error code is telling you the water cannot flow through the filter correctly. If not taken care of the jacuzzi will completely shut down.

You can purchase replacement filters to take care of this problem. To prevent it from happening in the future, clean the filter regularly. The filter you purchase will come with complete instructions on how to replace it or you can find this information in the owner's manual for your jacuzzi.

Problem with Pump

If you hear a humming noise coming from your jacuzzi this is a sign there are problems with the pump. This could be due to broken seals or the bearings may be worn out. You may also notice water leaking from the jacuzzi.

If you notice any of these things turn the jacuzzi off immediately and have it repaired. If you do not, you will have to completely replace the pump which can get very expensive.

Hire a jacuzzi company, like Spa Tech, to maintain your jacuzzi on a regular basis. They can also help you take care of the above problems. This will keep your jacuzzi healthy and will work well for you for many years.
